The quilt ministry at First Baptist Church Okeechobee, started in 2004,
makes and donates quilts to several local organizations. Among those
receiving quilts are: Hamrick Hospice Residence, Healthy Families,
Ace Pre-K and Hibiscus Children's Shelter
Each month the ladies meet to bring their completed quilts and spend the
day together sewing and enjoying a time of fellowship.
Here are pictures of the ladies who had made their BOM and two pictures
of complete Crossroad quilts. One was made without cornerstones. I also
included a picture showing the "Amazing Grace" backing fabric on that
one. As you can see, we all varied from the colors. There were 19 ladies
present and 30 quilts were turned in for the ministry. We passed 800 in
quilts given away and celebrated our 5th "birthday" in April.
